Firstly I used the crop tool and I cropped the photograph to give the model more of a centre focus and because the top of the photograph was not needed, it just had extra bubble wrap which was later edited out. Cropping the photograph also meant that I could zoom the model in more as the photograph was taken rather far away, I wanted the zoom more closer.

Step Two

Secondly, I used the clone stamp tool to remove the top of the bubble wrap and add more bubble wrap to the model's chin. I took some off the top because there was too much focus being added to it therefore it removed the focus and gave the model more attention. I added bubble wrap to the model's chin because when I took the photograph I missed out his chin and therefore edited the bubble wrap on to complete the gaps.

Step Three

Next, I edited the shadows and highlights to add a defined texture and to give a grungey feel towards the photograph. I didn't darken the highlights as the photograph became too dark and I wanted it clear.

Step Four

For my next step I changed the brightness and contrast slightly to make the photograph lighter but with a darker feel. The brightness lightened the face and the contrast outlined the bubble wrap.

Step Five

Original Image

My last step that I completed was adjusting the colour curves.

I adjusted the highlights, midtone brightness, midtone contrast and the shadows.

Doing so meant that the nose was highlighted and the eyes darkened. The contrast brought out the colours more gving the phototograph a more depth of field and attracts more attention.

This is my original image before I started editing. I like this photograph because it is very interesting. It covers the models face but still shows the face behind the material.

I purposely asked the model to open his mouth as it looks like he is suffocating. I took this photograph as I was inspired by a similar photograph on my artist research page from pinterest.

For my next photograph I will use a black and white edit to define the photograph more.
